Lisa Martineau has written two critically acclaimed works of non-fiction, Politics & Power: Barbara Castle, a biography, published by Andre Deutsch and Caught In A Mirror: Reflections of Japan, published by Macmillan. Politics & Power was selected by the Financial Times as a political biography of the year. All The Old Familiar Places is her first novel.
She has been the Guardian’s Tokyo correspondent and a political columnist for Eurobusiness. Other publications for which she has written include the Financial Times, The Economist and the International Herald Tribune. She is married to the journalist and editor Paul Maidment. They have two sons and are currently living in New York.
